Meet Our Team

Inspired by a love of vintage campers and the desire to do something new and unique to better serve her customers seeking smaller, more intimate outdoor gatherings, owner Christie Ross rebranded her 10-year old custom cake business, Buttercream & Sprinkles, in early 2021 to create Tin Can Confections + Cocktails.

Christie developed a life long passion for cooking and baking in her Nana’s kitchen right here in Ramsey, l earning to cook and bake breads, pies, and other family desserts at the young age of nine. The former owner of a restaurant in the mountains of Western North Carolina, along with more than fifteen years in the restaurant business, Christie honed her skills cooking and baking for family and friends. Not long after, she developed a loyal following through word-of-mouth in Virginia that led to a full-time custom cake business for more than 10 years, including the last 5 in Ramsey.

Christie has volunteered for Icing Smiles and Operation Shower as well as other local charitable events. She has also been incredibly fortunate to have her work featured in Women's Day Magazine and on several online blogs including Kara’s Party Ideas, Catch My Party, Pretty My Party, and Party Planning Magazine.

Now, she is bringing her passion for bold and eclectic flavors infused with her love of southern fare and all things sweet to this new adventure. Though Christie spends her days baking and managing the day-to-day operations for Tin Can, you'll find her most at home serving up desserts and drinks while singing out of tune to her favorite 70's and 80's hits at any given event.

Amanda Nokes, a native of Bergen County and fellow resident of Ramsey, also grew up baking with her mom on the weekends, which led to a passion for baking cookies. She is the former owner of Manderin Cookie Company in Seattle, WA, where she not only had a thriving online presence, but also had her delicious cookies featured in coffee shops throughout the city. Her use of and amazing ability to blend creative and unique flavors, like peanut butter, chocolate, pretzels, and caramel or coconut, toffee, and dark chocolate, made her cookies a sought after local favorite and garnered national accolades, including the #6 spot on Fox News' "America's best chocolate chip cookies" list for her Crazy Love cookie, a scrumptious combination of dark chocolate chunks, coconut, and toffee. Amanda does not just limit herself to cookies, though, creating other delicious baked treats including pies, cheesecakes, and jam bars, which you will surely see on the menu. In addition to baking, you will often find Amanda and her infectious smile serving up your favorite drinks and confections at events while belting out REO Speedwagon. Amanda also handles donation requests and our public food truck bookings.
